Hakuba Iwatake Apartments are located right on the ski field of Hakuba Iwatake. The building is located just 25 meters from the Kamoshika 1 pair lift (left side of the piste map below) and positioned right on the ski field itself. Ski right on and off the front porch!
Hakuba Iwatake is in the heart of the Hakuba Valley and is an excellent ski field. Iwatake had a brand new gondola launched in December 2024 and a new base station launched in December 2025. In 2026 construction begins on a new base station hotel complex.
At the summit there are restaurants and viewing decks. It is a pet friendly resort with a great mix of beginner, intermediate and advanced ski areas. Iwatake is one of Asia's longest downhill mountain bike trails in the summer months.
It is also a super convenient area of Hakuba to stay and explore the various other resorts of the Hakuba Valley as well. Just 6 minutes to Hakuba Happo One, 12 minutes to Hakuba 47, 10 minutes from Hakuba Tsugaike and 13 minutes to Hakuba Cortina. Iwatake Apartments are ideally centrally located for a ski holiday within the Hakuba Valley.
Iwatake ski resort has a good mix of beginner to advanced runs with some very good off piste tree skiing. There is a central Gondola opened in December 2024 and around 15 other lifts service the resort. Iwatake is renowned for its wide open runs and 360 degree views of the Hakuba Valley. At the top of the resort there is a fantastic terrain park with some cool jumps, kickers and rails. The resort is appealing to beginners and intermediates but drop into the far valley for some sweet treed runs for the more advanced. From there some great back country can be discovered.
As more and more people visit Hakuba during the winter, Iwatake still retains a very Japanese feel and is never super busy. In fact, many local residents head straight to Iwatake as a starting point to some very epic days in the Hakuba powder. It is a bit of a locals secret garden (sorry guys!).

Very nearby to Hakuba Iwatake Apartments is Iwatake Onsen - “Iwatakenoyu”. It is a lovely natural onsen with locally sourced mineral water and super relaxing after a long day on the hill. It is about a 2 minute walk from the lodge and we can provide special discounts to our guests.
